Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero, an American actor and singer, is a former model. She is known for co-starring in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain and for having as the leader of the girl group Apollonia 6. It was among the many female artists that benefited of Prince's involvement during the 1980s. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica in California in 1959. In the aftermath of a disagreement regarding the direction she was taking in her career Apollonia 6 broke up and Kotero was able to end her partnership with Prince. Her appearances in small films (reportedly having a hard time being involved in the Purple Rain sequel Under the Cherry Moon) and then landing the role of Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia was the first artist to release her album in 1988. But it was not a great mix of dance and R&B music which did not impress the public. The album was quickly wiped from view. She continued acting (if she was a little under the spotlight) as well as small television roles, minor films and a workout DVD. Apollonia's album Stay With Me was released in 1997. Later, she returned to university and obtained an education in filmmaking. Then, she started her own production firm. Apollonia is a multi-talented woman.
